Adrift on the Dunes
A home designed by architect Christoff:Finio that exists on the land by barely touching it. Polished terrazzo underfoot, panoramic glass walls that dissolve the line between inside and out — the Atlantic dunes don't frame the rooms, they inhabit them.
This home built for discerning art enthusiasts, the furnishings were chosen with the same precision as the architecture. A curved Vladimir Kagan sofa in ivory linen velvet. Nino Zoncada armchairs in crushed silk velvet on tapered legs. A one-of-a-kind Nakashima live-edge American black walnut coffee table. Each piece placed on a massive custom black-stained abaca rug by Beauvais Carpets — woven from the leaf stalks of a banana plant native to the Philippines. Nothing competes with the view. Everything earns its place.
Art does the heavy lifting: hand-placed ceramic forms suspended mid-flight across an entire wall, and a full Jenny Holzer text installation woven into the foyer and staircase — light, language, and architecture becoming one.
Pure East End restraint, wind-scrubbed and unafraid.
